I help busy leaders leverage limits to break free from the grind, scale their businesses strategically, and reclaim their time to build a life they love.
Hi, I’m Tricia!
You Can Have It Both Ways
I wasn’t just BELAY’s first employee; I was also the organization’s first virtual assistant. From that starting point, my journey led me to become a Director, Vice President, President, COO, and now CEO—all while learning to protect and prioritize the relationships that mean the most to me.
But it wasn’t always easy. Early in my career, I struggled to balance my professional ambitions with my personal life. I’ll never forget the day I missed my daughter’s first steps. That was my wake-up call—something had to change.
Today, as BELAY’s CEO, I’m passionate about helping other busy leaders protect their time, delegate with intention, leverage the power of focus, and prioritize what truly matters. I call this approach the 40-Hour CEO, a system designed to help leaders like you grow your business without sacrificing the life you want to live.
You don’t have to work 60 hours a week to succeed, and your success shouldn’t come at the expense of living.
Learn More About the 40-Hour CEO SystemI managed multiple retail stores, working 70+ hours a week in a leadership role that demanded even more time as I climbed the corporate ladder. After missing my daughter’s first steps, I knew I couldn’t keep sacrificing my family for a traditional path that equated “more work” with “more success.” While I loved my job, I knew the perpetual “hamster wheel” wasn’t the life I wanted. So, I left my stable, high-profile career and took a step back from leadership, determined to find a better way to lead—and live.
During the recession, I joined a scrappy startup called BELAY—before it even had clients—as a recently divorced single mom. It was risky, but I believed the upside could be worth it. Although I stepped in as its first employee and virtual assistant, the environment allowed me to continue working and leading while prioritizing my family. At BELAY, I discovered “The Third Option”: the ability to grow my career without sacrificing the people and priorities that matter most.

BELAY signed its first client in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and soon after partnered with bestselling author Michael Hyatt. The workload grew rapidly, and I found myself pulled in every direction, learning that success could quickly become chaos without boundaries.

Overwhelmed by expansion, I realized I couldn’t do it all and needed to delegate. Instead of juggling every detail, I began empowering others, a mindset shift that ultimately unlocked more growth opportunities for both me and the company.
My willingness to delegate allowed me to advance from Virtual Assistant to Director, Vice President, President, and COO. By continuously letting go of tasks, I not only opened doors for my own development but the development of my team, many of whom are executives and leaders at BELAY today. Along the way, I also met and married my amazing husband.
I always refused to give my family the leftovers, but with only five years left before my youngest child went to college and three years left with both my kids at home, I established strict limits like no work nights or weekends. Any fear of this hurting BELAY or my career melted away as BELAY was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s Fastest-Growing Companies for the fourth consecutive year.
When BELAY’s founders exited the business and offered me the opportunity to be their successor, I stepped into the CEO position prepared to lead by example. By maintaining clear boundaries and leveraging strategic delegation, I continued to grow BELAY without sacrificing my personal life. In fact, I reduced my schedule to 40 hours a week.
In 2024, BELAY celebrated its 10th consecutive year on Inc. Magazine’s list of America’s Fast-Growing Companies.
From that first leap of faith to the C-suite, I’ve learned that intentional limits create limitless growth. I’m proof that you don’t have to choose between growth and well-being, work and life, family and career. Traditional leadership insists you work more to achieve more, but there’s another, more sustainable way. I’ve discovered that I can lead a growing organization while also being an engaged spouse and parent when I have the most productive 40 hours possible.
Now, I’m passionate about helping other busy leaders do the same—leading their teams successfully without working around the clock.

" Besides being an unbelievable communicator, Tricia is a fantastic leader.
It's rare for a leader to deliver incredible results consistently and do it sustainably, not just for the business but for her team and herself. Anybody can deliver short-term results at great expense to themselves and the business, but they ultimately burn out. Tricia didn't just figure out how to do it for herself. She can also teach other people how to do it in her leadership strategies and her company's services. Every time I talk to her, I am inspired, encouraged, and ready to take on the day, the next challenge, and whatever is in front of me."
"Tricia is modeling what great leadership looks like for all of us.
Something I appreciate about Tricia's leadership is how intentional she is about success in all areas of her life. Not only is she driven to make big things happen with her team, but she also knows when to turn it off and be present where her feet are outside of the office. That's a tough thing to do, especially as a CEO."
“Tricia is a leader worth following, and I encourage you to follow her as well.
When my wife and I started BELAY, Tricia was there, and she helped us execute flawlessly. She grew in her leadership to the point that she took over our job as CEO of BELAY. She can execute, organize people, and cast vision. Tricia is a fantastic human and leader."
